We are delighted to announce that Brad Bourke, hailing from Onoway, will be coaching our U18 team this season. Brad's journey in hockey began in Spruce Grove and St. Albert, where he played his minor hockey before advancing to the junior level in Alberta and British Columbia. As a player, Brad achieved remarkable success, being recognized as a 4-Time All-Conference Athlete, League Rookie of the Year, University Rookie of the Year, and League Champion during his ACAC playing career. After playing minor professional for two years, Brad joined a U18 AAA coaching staff in 2018 as an assistant coach and took over the head coach role in 2020. We are thrilled to have Brad bring his expertise and passion for the game to our U18 team.
We are pleased to welcome Dustin Kohn as the head coach of our U17 team. Originally from Edmonton, Dustin's hockey journey started in his hometown. He showcased his exceptional skills as a player, earning the distinction of being a two-time WHL All-Star and participating in the CHL Top Prospects game. In 2005, he was drafted in the second round by the New York Islanders and went on to have a successful professional career spanning nine years. Currently, Dustin is completing his second masters at the University of Alberta, focusing on sport psychology and athlete development. His invaluable expertise in player development is further demonstrated by his role as the player development coach for the Saskatoon Blades of the WHL. We are thrilled to have Dustin's wealth of experience and passion for the game as he guides our U17 team.
We are thrilled to announce the return of Garrett Meger as the head coach of our U15 team. Garrett, a Chartered Professional coach through the Coaching Association of Canada, brings a high level of professionalism and expertise to our program. Garrett guided the U15 team to a League Championship in its inaugural season. Garrett's ability to cultivate a positive and supportive environment for our young athletes will undoubtedly foster growth and development both on and off the ice.
We are delighted to have Dan Nadeau as the head coach of our U14 team. Dan's remarkable playing career spanning across Canada, Germany, and the UK brings a wealth of international experience to our program. With over 15 years of coaching experience, Dan's expertise and mentorship will be invaluable to our U14 players. His partnership with NHL shooting coach Tim Turk over the past 8 years highlights his dedication to continuous improvement and player development.
We have complete confidence in our head coaches' ability to guide our athletes, instill a strong work ethic, and foster a sense of camaraderie within each team. Together, we will continue to build a program that prioritizes the holistic growth of our players, both as individuals and as athletes.
